NYRR Washington Heights 5K: We’re Cheering!

This Sunday is the NYRR Washington Heights Salsa, Blues, and Shamrocks 5K! I spectated this event last year and positioned myself on the big hill into/out of Fort Tryon Park. It was such a great spot that I plan to cheer here again this time around as well!

Actual photo of me from last year.

If you’re interested in joining me for some cheers, RSVP to the event on Meetup! There will be music, high fives, and more positive energy than you can shake a stick at!

Filling in Some Gaps

My last blog post was on the SRC Blue Point 10 Miler and the Fred Lebow Half. Since then I’ve cheered at the NYRR Gridiron 4M, the PPTC Cherry Tree 10M, and the NYRR Al Gordon 4M! A few tidbits:

  • At the Gridiron 4M there was an interesting showdown between some horse carriage drivers trying to merge onto the 72nd Street transverse and runners trying…not to get run over. Luckily this was relatively late in the race and only a few runners were affected!
  • Joyce, avid Back on My Feet enthusiast and PPTC rockstar, hopped on the cheer train at the Al Gordon 4M. So many hugs, high fives, and shouts of encouragement! Thanks for joining me Joyce!
  • The PPTC Cherry Tree 10M album has already become my most-viewed collection on Flickr to date! Thanks for checking it out y’all – and thanks for reading this blog post!

Joyce at the Al Gordon 4M!
